Left Fielder Media explores the world of Commercialized Space Tourism
According to SpaceNation — in 20 years’ time we should expect a fully sustainable space economy with space hotels, factories and more. This type of space accessibility has sparked an immersive project designed around this massive concept. It’s called ‘Member 16’, and Left Fielder Media is all in on developing worlds, characters, stories and immersive experiences about the future of space commercialism.
“At LFM we’re motivated to provide our audience with tangible concepts of the future. Our dedication to studying the emerging commercial space tourism industry has offered us the opportunity to see the extreme value of creating the narratives that insert ourselves into these conversations.”
“After all, it’s the new era for human evolution and we’re all part of it. We firmly believe that we will have one or more of these companies sending paying customers to space.”— Mazdak Nassir, Space Nation
Further inspiration came from attending the conversations around ‘Claiming Space’, this symposium held by the Smithsonian explored topics around what the future looks like across oceans, into land reclamations, up to the stars, through cyberspace, and inward as Black visionaries look to the infinite space within. That overall theme aligns with the core of Left Fielder Media, “Design the future, reclaim the past. That ideology is how we approach creativity.” says Stephen Philms LFM’s co-founder. “I was empowered, informed and invigorated while attending the Smithsonian’s virtual symposium. We want to continue the conversation through our ‘Member 16’ project. In the future, we imagine a fully functional world where these ideas are the social norm, thats an exciting backdrop to create from.”
While attending Comic-Con the LFM founders were able to catch the Axiom Space Panel. Axiom Space is building the world’s first commercial space station. LFM co-founder Dom Cole spoke on his experience there — “What Axiom is developing is groundbreaking. We see the massive opportunity to create stories in this evolving industry, it was helpful to gain more insight from the panel experts.”
More details about Member 16 will be made available as the project nears release. Expect to see a digital asset campaign series that introduces all the characters inside the world they’re building.
